The dog must be able to detect any kind of narcotics (marijuana, hashish, cocaine, crack, heroin, excstasies, LSD, GHB, amphetamines, etc.) in well different areas like (apartment, vehicles, garden, bags, postal parcels, etc). More and more these substances are dissimulated in increasingly subtle hiding-places and it's our job to be more smart and well trained to be able to find them anyway.

Generally, we assist the "Drugs Task Force" of the State Police into searches and investigations on drug dealers. We also are sometimes required by the patrols of Gendarmerie to search into vehicles in which suspects known for traffic or consumption of narcotics are taken place. We also engage our dog on routine police controls in street when consumers or dealers throw away drugs. We also do preventive work when engaging our K-9 in free searches in city parks where dealers use to hide drug.

Like all the other disciplines, the detection of narcotics is based on the play and fun for the dog. Our dogs are not doped! It is enough to see the effect of drugs on the human ones to realize that that would destroy our faithful companions very quickly.

Since 2004, all our dogs are conditioned to search and detect narcotics thru the SOKKS method.
